Lauren (Lauri) Osselton

Lauren (Lauri) Osselton is a coach for creatives, a writer and a visual artist. Lauri started painting at a young age with her grandmother, a lifelong artist and creative. Together they would sit and free paint in the botanical gardens - her grandmother was the one who taught Lauri the importance of owning your art and identity as an artist.

Throughout her twenties, Lauri moved around a lot and pursued her career as a copywriter and marketer. She still painted but never gave herself permission to pursue it boldly. But after several years of growth + spiritual awakenings, Lauri is proud to be returning to her art roots like never before. She sees art as the opportunity to bring the lessons and principles she teaches her clients to life in a new way.

The alchemist is one who can turn their deepest pain, trials and tests into pure gold, wisdom and magic to serve to others. Over the years, I have been regularly inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, which is an act of repairing broken pottery with gold to create an entirely new, beautiful piece of art. I see an act of RENEWAL in this practice... of taking something broken and repairing it and alchemizing it into something even more beautiful than it was originally. That’s how I see the process of alchemizing our emotional trials, pains and tribulations into beautiful magic we can serve others. Just as in the beloved Paulo Coehlo tale, the true alchemist knows that the treasure you seek is already within and never something exterior or external to who you are; renewal come from owning all sides of our being... ‘cracks’ and all. After all, as Leonard Cohen said, ‘there is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in’
