Mary Perkins

Mary Perkins is a self-taught artist born and raised in North Toronto. Her love for the outdoors is exhibited in her oil painting nature landscapes, inspired by Mary’s recurring time in Toronto, Ottawa, Huntsville and Brampton. Her approach is simply that of capturing what she feels when she gets in front of her canvas. Much like the landscapes that inspire her, Mary’s style conveys power, emotions and beauty with elegance and realism. Mary's works can be seen during November at the upcoming Big Ideas show at Paula Whiter Diamond Gallery, Artful Giving at Headwaters Arts and Loft Gallery Annual Square Foot Show.

I truly feel that small pieces can have big impacts on collectors and their spaces. Giving or receiving a piece of art, big or small, has a wonderful effect. A piece is made by the hands and mind of an artist and the hope is that it ignites an emotion, memory, or feeling. The purpose to collecting pieces of artwork is to find connections and joy to make your space your own. Art, through colour and texture, create an emotional impact that conjure up feelings and memories worthy of embracing.
