Timothy Wilson Hoey
"If Hoey were any more Canadian, he would be a doughnut." - the National Post
Primarily self-taught, Timothy was heavily influenced by his 'adopted' Father, a painter, builder and creative thinker, who would remark, "Figure it out for yourself and make your mistakes pretty”.
His first solo show at 17 served as a catalyst to drive his creativity down many paths and styles: painter, writer, musician, tattooist, and all around maker of stuff. His work has ended up throughout the world and he even ended up in a tent in Trafalgar Square at the steps of the National Gallery. He's still wondering how that happened but glad it did.
He now lives on Vancouver Island, in Lekwungen Territory.
